Classic Hotspot allows you to create password-protected SSIDs.
You can choose between
WEP and
WPA2-PSK (recommended).
WEP (Shared network key)
WEP means Wired Equivalent Privacy.
A WEP key is a security code for Wi-Fi networks, the sequence is composed bu numbers 0-9 and letters A-F.
If you want to select WEP, please select the radio-box next to WEP.
You have to enter the 5 characters pass-phrase which be used to validate the authentication and only those who enter a correct pass-phrase can access the device.
By default, the value for the pass-phrase is
tanaz
which can be edited to any key as per your wish.
Please, make sure that it is 5 characters, otherwise, you will get an error.
You can click on the 'key' button to see the characters entered as the pass-phrase.
Please click Apply button to save any changes
WPA2-PSK (Shared Network key):
WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access) - PSK is a more secure encryption method than WEP.
The PSK stands for "pre-shared key", that is the encryption passphrase.
You have to enter 8-63 length of characters as a pass-phrase which is going to be used to validate the authentication and only those who enter a correct pass-phrase can access the device.
By default, the value for the pass-phrase is
tanazatanaza
which can be edited to any key as per your wish.
Please, make sure that it is
8 characters, otherwise, you will get an error.
You can click on the 'key' button to see the characters entered as the pass-phrase.
Please click
Apply button to save any changes
