If you use Classic Hotspot Social Dashboard, you can export the list in
- CSV ("Comma Separated Values") file format
- XLS (Microsoft Excel) file format
clicking on the link into the "
Users" or "
Connections" page.
If you own a Salesforce account, you can use the wizards or the Salesforce data loader to one time upload thousands of records.
This article is about the steps that you have to follow to import large batches of data from your Classic Hotspot Social Dashboard to your Salesforce account.
STEP 1
Log in to your Social Dashboard (https://ashboard.tanaza.com) .
STEP 2
Select the SSIDs and make queries if you need to (you can select users by gender, age, location, social network, etc.)
Example of query: women, age between 25 and 45, used Facebook to log in, in any location, registered in December 2014.
STEP 3
Check if the list of users is complete, then click on "Export CSV" on the right side of the page to export data
STEP 4
Set up the import file: clean it (delete duplicates, correct spelling, fill in the incomplete records if there are), then match field names, and add columns (for example: record owner, parent record ID columns)
STEP 5
Prepare your Salesforce account for the import: add custom fields, use picklists, set data validation rules, set up workflows
STEP 6
Upload data through one of the following tools:
-
WIZARDS (to upload max 50,000 records; you cannot upload opportunities, you cannot export data)
-
DATA LOADER (to upload more than 50,000 records, with opportunities; the system reports upload errors)
-
WORKBENCH or JITTERBIT, for advanced users.
