Classic Hotspot allows customers to integrate Login information with third party solutions, in case, for instance, a customer wants to send Login information through an external database for marketing purpose.

Push notificationsWhile configuring the required Endpoint, it could be useful to test the notification system, in order to be 100% sure that the login information are correctly pushed by Classic Hotspot.
This can easily be done thanks to several free online tools, like
Webhook or
Beeceptor. They work in a similar way, here below is possible to find easy steps to configure them with Classic Hotspot.
This free online tool called
Webhook Tester, offer a easy way to test Classic Hotspot
Push notifications, here's how:
STEP 1
Go to
https://webhook.siteThe website will immediately create a unique URL for you, which will be used to log any requests sent to it (like a push notification).
Copy the URL in your clipboard.
NOTE
Keep this tab open for the entire test!
Webhook Tester will be in stand-by now to register any information sent to it.
If you close the window, you might need to generate another unique URL again.
STEP 2
Open your Classic Hotspot Social Dashboard (using the link
Hotspot on your
Classic Hotspot cloud account).
Access your SSID configuration form the top-right button called
SSID.
Select the tab
Push Notification, and activate the Push Notification for that SSID and copy the URL given by
WebHook Tester at
STEP 1.
Click the
Save button to confirm the settings.
The system is now ready to register any login to the SSID.
STEP 3
Access your Classic Hotspot cloud account, and enter into your SSID configuration.
From the
Splash Page tab, click the
Simulation Link, to open your Splash Page in another tab.
STEP 4
Perform a login with any method you prefer (in this case we've chosen Facebook in order to test the retrievement of some profile information).
Complete the login process until you see the
Simulation mode - Landing page, with a message like the one shown below:

This page is shown only in simulation mode.
In normal mode the user would have been redirected to the requested url.
Once the session ends on the access point the user is redirected to the splash page to login again.
You are logged in using the following social account:
Username
Email
This will confirm a correct and completed login procedure.
STEP 5
Go back to the Webhook Tester tab.
After few seconds you should be able to see the request logged, appearing in the left column of the page, with the detailed information on the right.
This will complete the test to check if the Classic Hotspot Push Notifications are working properly.
NOTE
To get a better view of the single fields of the push notification received, you can click on the option Format JSON on the top menu.
This will expand the information to let you better distinguish every single field.
This other free online tool called Beeceptor offers another easy way to test Classic Hotspot Push notifications:
STEP 1
Go to https://beeceptor.com

STEP 2
pick a unique name (e.g. "your-SSID-name"= and click the button below "Create Endpoint".
The new page will show all the data you need to configure your Classic Hotspot Push notifications.

Don't close the browser tab and copy the link provided, similar to this:
https://your-SSID-name.free.beeceptor.com/my/api/path
NOTE
Change your-SSID-name with the name with the one entered at STEP 1.
STEP 3
Open your Classic Hotspot Social Dashboard (using the link Hotspot on your Classic Hotspot cloud account).

Select the tab Push Notification, and activate the Push Notification for that SSID and copy the URL given by Beeceptor Tester at STEP 2.
