If you want to activate your White Label with Classic Hotspot for your Splash Page and your Social Dashboard, you will need to configure a CNAME (see this article for more information How to activate your White Label - Overview and steps).

Once activated, you can easily check if they are working correctly in two ways:

1st Method : using your browser

2nd Method: using a command prompt

1st Method : using your browser

This test is very quick and simple.

STEP 1

Open your browser and edit the CNAME.

For example for your Splash Page:

http://splash.yourdomain.com

if you configured a

splash.yourdomain.com

CNAME pointing to

splash.tanaza.com

STEP 2

Check if you can see the following message :

"The CNAME configuration for this domain is successful, please follow the remaining instructions for the white label activation on this domain."

your CNAME was properly configured, because your browser is trying to reach an address which is intended to be reached through your Classic Hotspot powered AP, but this also means that the redirection is working!

In case you do NOT see such message, please refer again to How to set the CNAME for your domain

2nd Method: using a command prompt

You can quickly check any address of your CNAME using the command "nslookup".

This command is used to query the DNS to obtain domain name mapping, so basically what address is mapped to the one you are searching.

STEP 1

Open your Command Prompt.

If you are using a Windows OS, just press

WIN+R

and type cmd in the window which pops up, like in this image:

cmd_command

or you can just search for "cmd" or  "prompt" in the search box and click on the result name "Command Prompt" which will appear:

STEP 2

Now, in the Command Prompt window type the command "nslookup" followed by the CNAME you want to check and press ENTER

STEP 3

Check the result of the command, if you can see an answer like this one:

your CNAME is correctly configured!

This because the answer informs you that the CNAME redirects to the correct Tanaza address.

You can repeat this check for any other CNAME you created:
  • Splash Page
  • Dashboard
  • Dashboard-Api
  • Editor

Final considerations

Now that you validate your CNAME, you can send to our team all of the information needed to activate your White Label account:

  • your Classic Hotspot account email where you want your White Label activated
  • your CNAME set, in this way:

Your addressCNAME pointing to
splash.yourdomain.comsplash.tanaza.com
dashboard.yourdomain.comdashboard.tanaza.com
dashboard-api.yourdomain.comdashboard-api.tanaza.com
editor.yourdomain.comeditor.tanaza.com
