The email login allows the user to access the Wi-Fi by providing their email address.
It is recommended:
- to show your brand in the customized splash page using the captive portale
- to show advertisements before/after the splash page or if you want to provide information about who's sponsoring the public hotspot
- to collect email address, but you don't need to get other information about the Wi-Fi clients
- to configure an easy authentication process
It is not recommended:
- If you want to boost the social engagement
- If you need to collect email addresses or other information
HOW TO CONFIGURE EMAIL LOGIN
STEP 1
Access to the Splash Page Editor >> Click on the "+" on the top-left of the Editor, drag and drop a login button
STEP 2
Click on the login button (that will represent, by default, Facebook Login) >> Select the Method "Email" in the right menu
STEP 3
If you need to, customize text and style of the button. You can show a button, a link or a form.
Example
A restaurant owner wants to create an email list to send promotional newsletters. He offers free Wi-Fi with email login and collects the email of Wi-Fi clients
Eventually, he can add to the splash page his custom terms and conditions (for the newsletter opt-in, if needed).
